The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust serves primarily the communities of Wakefield District and North Kirklees, a combined population of around 500,000. We also serve some patients from surrounding areas including South Leeds, North Yorkshire, Barnsley and Doncaster through our regional specialist units. The Trust provides a complete range of general hospital services from our three main hospital sites – Pinderfields General Hospital, Dewsbury & District Hospital and Pontefract General Infirmary. In addition day cases services are provided from Clayton Hospital in Wakefield and some services are provided at other facilities and clinics across the district. The next few years will be especially exciting for the Trust as we continue with building our state-of-the-art new hospitals at Pontefract and Pinderfields as well as continuing to invest in our excellent modern hospital at Dewsbury.
